How do I turn off hit splats?

for a particular monster, hit splats block it's overhead health and spec bar. How do I turn off all hit splats? I found a setting for hit splats, but you can only turn off for other players. I want to turn off for monsters and myself.

mostly ripper demons. the armour spikes and my melee attacks, and poison damage are so frequent, it covers their special attack bar, so I don't see when to scoot out of the way.

not that it happens a lot. I can usually kill them before their bomb attack. but the hitsplats are annoying regardless
