I think everyone in the HLF are evidence that the game is addictive. That addiction can be cured by either focusing on the pointlessness of most of set goals or by getting really mad at an update. But SoF... I mean TH adds an element of gambling to the game, which in a way, makes it even more addicting.

Game is seriously addicting...not just RS, there's actually plenty of scientific evidence now on other related games

But of course, big tobacco said that smoking wasn't addictive or harmful either.
If you are willing to chuck your most precious possessions like phats because someone said words like crashing/dying/quitting and then find yourself unable to rebuy for what you sold for, then you don't deserve to own a phat.

They did a study on monkeys ringing a bell to stimulate stacking crates and bein rewarded with a banana. They posited dopamine would be released in the brain when the banana was rewarded, and they were wrong. The dopamine floods the brain at the sound of the bell before the behavior.

Then they changed the reward schedule introducing a variable of MAYBE and that made the amount of dopamine released to the brain DOUBLE.

Thats paraphrasing wolfgang koehler's mentality of apes off the top of my head. I aint even a pysch guy, but I have three degrees, so yeah
gambling is addictive
, and the UK has many more laws about gambling than the USA.

also fun thing... none of yall ever take acid. its an agonist not dope, so it messes up your brain's ability to produce dopamine, and then you can't perform behaviors like... sitting still or brushing your teeth. Your hands float around like you have parkinson's. There is that one nobel prize winner guy who says acid made him smarter but his hands fly around like a techno dancing girl with a glowstick. Its ridiculous.

But yeah thats how game theory works. Its meant to be addictive with a variable of "maybe" somewhere in its functional expression.

This spin the wheel and MAYBE win a prize stuff was always gonna get Jagex in trouble. We been tryin to warn em, but...

all i got from this was "never take acid, or you will end up sounding as ramblingly incomprehensible me"
