i'm getting the message: "you cannot construct more than one cannon at a time" "if you have lost your cannon go please see the dwarven engineer"

i'm getting this at darkbeasts aswell

Have you already got a cannon deployed? Maybe it's decayed.

If not, just die somewhere, it'll get rid of your cannon, maybe you'll have to buy a new one.
