I've been playing for 15 or so years and I'm just generally curious about it. I know some information isn't given out but I'll ask anyways.

Is there certain criteria for being chosen or do you have to ask to be one? If so, am I eligible?
What extra rules do you they have to follow once they are one?
Do you enjoy being a Player Mod?
Is there a hidden forum for Player Mods? (I'm guessing yes, but have never seen it myself.)
Are RS3, OSRS and Forum Player Mods all separate or is it one size fits all?

I'll probably have more questions if Mods chime in if they don't mind :P

You need to have a bank pin and 2FA set up and a verified email. Afaik these are hard blocking requirements where if you don't have them, you will never be considered ever.

PMods don't follow extra rules, as in, you don't get specific punishments for behaviour. You're expected to represent the company fairly so you probably can't go about bashing Jagex at every opportunity and need to be seen as reasonable. But if it doesn't break the normal rules, the worst punishment is being demodded.

There are forums just for mods and even one specific area in game only the PMods can go to to have private discussions.

RS3 and OSRS PMods share across the games but PMods and FMods are independant and having one doesn't mean you'll have the other (though a lot of people do).

Thanks for the response! :) I had no clue there was a in-game area for them. That's really cool haha. It'd be nice to be considered for an in-game Pmod. Muting advertising/gambling bots would be nice for everyone. I've heard that Pmods have to take a few "classes" hosted by a JMod, is this true?

befriend j mods lol

Highly doubt that works, but it probably helps. Anymore I have no clue what JMods are around. Last ones I remember even talking to are Mod Mark, Mod MMG, and Mod Poppy. I'm willing to ask one for PMod status just so I'd be able to mute the advertising/gambling bots. I play enough, so I'm more than willing to help them out. Plus, a JMod can answer all my questions :P

you cant ask for a pmod status. especially over forums. thats not how you get chosen. imo that kind of hinders it

I wouldn't necessarily say that. A JMod is more than likely to see someone's request and entertain it slightly on the HLF than either just happen stance or meeting in game. Plus JMods lurk this forum, hoping one chimes in. I'll even take a PMod. :)

Asking shouldn't hinder it. Would they be curious as to why? Of course. I would think they would want players who are experienced and want to help. Realistically, an application form on the HLF would do wonders. Plus, they could answer some FAQs.

Just updating with a little more information I got from Jagex Support for anyone else in the future :)

"Hi there. We appreciate that! We currently don't have a process for players to apply to be a PMod, but when seeking recruits we look for dedicated players who are friendly, mature and who advocate for honesty and transparency. ~Dorota"

JMods being more active on the HLF would be lovely too.

Also, having a way to apply would be fantastic. Just like applying to the HLF, they could review some accounts that apply and go from there.

Hope this does change in the future. I know Jagex and JMods are busy, so I don't expect something immediate.

Thanks!
