Starting a thread here about the sad news that Jagex's priorities. Right now there is a huge shit-storm on social media.

While I know new content has been great, the bank rework has been something asked since 2015 and Jagex has acknowledged it is major problem. For me, I personally feel Jagex needs take the bank rework off the shelf and shelve something else. This is a problem that has only been growing as more and more items are created to stuff in our banks. PoF alone has taken up tons of bank space with the new creatures.

Developer comments *trying* to justify the decision.

Answer: It's more likely we'll try and implement one feature at a time. As far as the game engine is concerned your bank is no different to any other inventory, so even adding one seemingly small feature has the potential to cause significant errors in the most obscure of places. This is significantly riskier when attempting to add new features which rely on other new features all at once. When the ninja team originally decided to look into the bank rework we severely underestimated how much of other teams time would be required even when doing the engine work ourselves. Similarly because it is engine work any changes in the bank rework would also have to be made to work with the HTML5 client (which is used for the comapp) as well the java and NXT clients. The release of mobile will allow the comapp to be turned off and similarly if we can reach a point when we're no longer supporting the java client much less work is required.

QHI,

Problem is they have already done this with giving us access to PoH storage and Diango in the interface. Everything else that we've requested needs all that game engine rework done to be able to implement. Expect no extra features, and this was answered back when they were jerking us around.

I really wish that I didn't buy Gold VIP until after this announcement. Jagex 2019 New Year Resolution... MTX our customers until RS3 SERVER SHUTDOWN PARTY!

I mean - is the bank rework that important to you? For now just place extra items on alts, like a lot of the RS players do :S
I don't see the big deal about it :p
But that's just me.
EDIT: I just read Shauny's post. Can't say I'm not a bit peeved the shelved the entire thing (didn't really know what you were talking about before)

what's the next shelved cancelled RS3 project? Curious about predictions :P

my guess is fixing NXT when they discontinue Java. Hopefully OSRS gets some new players that day @Chee__RS
