AMD (was/is) better performance for your money. When I was looking at graphics cards for my computer, the AMD Radeon HD 7970 was £330 and the NVidia GTX 680 (the equivalent at the time) was £450... So yeah.

But now NVidia's drivers are way better than AMDs so it's edging back towards NVidia being better value. NVidia has ShadowPlay (records directly using the graphics card, rather than an external program like FRAPS/Camtasia), and AMD has Game DVR which is the same. ShadowPlay is better though.
