I kinda liked Terra Nova, but it got canceled after 1 season, leaving some unanswered questions.

Smallville is very good. It's not really that sci-fi though. I'm in season 5 right now.

I'm sure you've seen Torchwood, but it's worth mentioning.

Firefly is good, but the cult following it has annoys me. Also watch Serenity after the show.

'So annoying how the best sci-fi shows ALWAYS get cancelled whenever the story starts to develop and turn into something phenomenon, even more frustrating when they don't have a proper ending to give us closure (aka stargate universe and Lost)'

Defo's agreed with Lost's ending. Coulda been done better.

Yesh, to be honest I did prefer Tenny as the Doc more than...whats-his-face we've got now...

I remember seeing an article revealing him for the first time as new Doc, and initial reaction was = ew.
