I feel like if you think you are "wasting your time" playing osrs because somehow the accomplishments don't matter, you are playing for the wrong reasons. I know it is your call on how you want to play but if you just play for accomplishments because you somehow think they matter down the line you are going to realize that nothing you do on this game really matters unless you are having fun. Once runescape eventually dies (whenever that may be) no one will remember how much xp you gained, if they remember anything it will be the fun you had together.

tl;dr if you think you'd have more fun playing osrs do it, because that is all the really matters, as corny as it sounds.
