Also wtf if your provider is Virgin then shouldn't some torrent sites and primewire be blocked? Most of the major ISPs were forced to block them by court order.

Why don't you get their fibre package or is it not available in your area?

I'm considering it now. The problem isn't speed, it's stability and quality.

Damn you must be really close to the exchange or something if that's the speed you get on ADSL o.o
I had a 24mb line but only got 3-5mb download and less than 1mb upload when I had ADSL BB. -.-
It's why I went fibre, it's SO much better and so fkn stable. I check my router configuration often and my uptime is steady, it's been up for 500 hours so far without disconnecting once. I never got that with my previous ISP, it would always dc sometime during the day for some reason which got annoying. Not to mention, when more people started to use the network, it would slow down due to the amount of bandwidth we had.. 3-5mb and like 3 people using it for streaming/music etc.. was really bad.
The installation was a nightmare as you know but I am very happy with the service thus far and stability. It's just what I needed but the only downside is them blocking some of the good sites
but that's to be expected..

Have you tried this, RWH?

I can access primewire but the searching is messed up it seems.
I currently use Hotspot shield which is a VPN and that works wonders, however, it causes the posting issue and I have to keep changing the proxy settings after use, which is quite annoying.
