It's not that bad in single, but yeah.. there are way more stun abilities than counter abilities. Anticipation and freedom can't make you stun immune all the time either..
It's like > anticipation > immune for 9 seconds (can be stunned when cooldown is @1 sec, same for freedom) >stunned > freedom > immune for 5 seconds > stunned > ~ 10 seconds until anticipation is off cooldown.

Also isn't there an ability "Crush"? or something like that, that disables opponents prayers for a short while anyways? Granted its melee only, but the ability could be countered

Tick length on each server vary due to the different amount of players in each world - ticks are generally longer on high population worlds. Servers can also lag and miss ticks, which will make the overload last longer.
Like on the bonus xp weekend where every world except citadel was lagging terribly the overloads could last 8 minutes if I recall correctly, lol.
