So what is the RS Companion thing even needed for?

Can't go onto different screens on your phone without it logging out, which is annoying and that's enough of a reason to not use it.

Can't walk around using it with 3g because it just disconnects, unlike other apps and stuff which are perfectly fine to be used on 3g while travelling around. This rules out using it in the car or on any public transport and is even more annoying as you can't see any messages said offline.

So the only use I see for it is if you're in the same place for an extended period of time. If that place is home, why not just go online? If you are elsewhere, you're probably doing something that is more fun than talk to a clan chat, because ofc if you're only talking to a single person then you'll probably have other ways of contacting.

It's pretty shit and pointless really, should have worked on an actual app for the forums and website first.
