Honestly i'd be completely for zmi. With run energy being so bad in oldschool you'd need to spend money to gain the xp which kinda balances out the slightly higher xp rate.
Also you'd make way better money doing an individual rune like nature than running zmi.
Would also like clan wars, some of my favourite rs memories were in that place.

Slightly? zmi is about 55k/hr vs astrals which are ~30k/hr. Although fewer people rcing natures to 99 might help bring the nature rune price up a little...
You're arguing perfect laps, which is something that doesn't happen consistently unless you're suomi or jebrim.
Also i'm sure running double astrals is complete bank compared to zmi.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for runecrafting to be a super prestigious cape, but the skill itself has been fundamentally broken since it was released.
I'll concede that zmi would vary up runecrafting training pre 99, but it is *significantly* faster than all other methods (excluding running), even if you are not pro at training.
