No, you can buy the dragonstone, however you have to crush it in the wilderness, the task set doesn't mention that you have to crush it in the wilderness.

Just an FYI - You also need to crush the dragonstone in the wilderness, even though the "Hint" bit doesn't reference this at all.

Oh idk, I ground the dragonstone in wildy on my way to the patch before harvesting the herb and it didn't tick. Then went to a cape seller and withdrew another d stone and ground it after adding the herb to a vial of water. Then the task was checked.

Bit weird 'cause I went and hunted + killed for ashes before harvesting the herb then figured I might as well grind the dragonstone on my way from lava strykewyrms to the patch and for the first two it didn't matter lol
