You are basically suggesting a universal timezone. People can just wake up in the morning, whatever the time is in their place. And sleep at night, again whatever the time may be.
I am not trying to steal your idea or anything but I thought about this many years ago. I spoke about getting rid of timezones on SwiftIRC a year or two ago but people called me crazy. Thing is though, all computers use one time (UTC) so why can't humans do the same? Computers aren't smarter, they are just faster.
Here's another reason why this would work. Seasons on the southern hemisphere are the opposite. Christmas is in the middle of the summer. I personally can't imagine spending that day on the beach, to me it's connected with spending time inside with people I know, cold and snow. It never snows here but you get the point lol. To some other people though, it's perfectly normal to be on the beach. The same can be said about the new year. Do you see any sort of 'monthzone' to compensate for this?
If you don't find me crazy after this maybe I managed to get my point across lol. Either way, this would be really cool. And the same can be said about getting rid of daylight saving, an unnecessary reason to change the local time.
(:
