I'm confused at how they ended up where they were. They obviously came from the other section of road, going the other way - but only one side of the barrier is damaged - the near side.

Unless it was stuck in the central section for a long, long time...

Ja, I've been watching for that, too. Lorries aren't allowed in the outside lane of 3-lane, in a few countries, which further complicates it.

It's a bit odd that they've not closed off more, for the accident investigation teams - the debris scatter and tire tracks aren't very visible in the GIF, though that's likely to be because they're largely starting and ending before the visible section (especially considering the speed).

The damage to the barrier on the side of origin is also likely further along.

That being said, there's very little impact damage that's visible to the tractor unit, or front end, so it's difficult to gauge.

There's damage to the concrete in the middle going as far back as the ambulance, so it's likely the speed was considerable, and the damage to the barrier on the side of origin is even further along.

Looks possible that it skudded along the cetral part of the barrier for some distance, rather than just scraping it as it started to topple over.
