DoT = Damage over Time.

Bleeds fall under that category.

I believe 'Bleeding' was the name for the status effect that caused characters to slowly lose health over time in any of the old video games.

This has later evolved to simply be called "DoT's" since games now-a-days have broadened, and a more general term was needed to describe.. well.. Damage over time effects.

So really, its two terms to mean the same exact thing. Bleed just came first, so it still gets used, kinda like we all used to/still say DDS even after it got changed to DDP++

Yeah but Dragon Dagger (super poison) makes a lot more sense than Dragon Dagger Poison ++, it also sounds a lot nicer.

Do you think they might ever bring out another form of weapons that hits higher, but reduces your def rating? (Kind of the opposite of shieldbows - a weapon that concentrates on being damaging, rather than ease of use, to the point of making it (slightly) dangerously unwieldy)

This niche idea popped up when discussing the new bow, as several folks thought it was a t90 shieldbow (despite the fact no one thinks it looks like one - cus that doesn't rlly indicate much).

yea I'm really wondering why they didn't just leave it as DDS, DDP++ is so ugh :p

It had to do with people convincing others that DDP+ was better than DDS and scamming them. So they decided to make it definitive rather than leaving 'super' open for interpretation.
