Any of ya'll smart with smartphones?

Kinda wanna get one soon-ish as my work taking me to unknown territory and my current phone is dying.

I've looked at the Galaxy S4 Active, but the review I saw said it was a bit dodgy on the quality with making and receiving calls. I'm kinda out and about in all weathers so I want it to be as reliable as possible lol. Is there a phone that has all sorts of features like the S4, but is more reliable (perhaps with more features? :o) that doesn't cost a bomb, or make me feel like I'm buying something just because of the name, like an iPhone for example.

Oh and it HAS to be in BLACK. :3
