RAM is where the programs you have open put their temporary data. It's ridiculously fast so it's better than your hard drive for instance.

More just means programs are less likely to fight for your free RAM, and programs can use more RAM if necessary, and thus run better.

Only really important if you are a tab monster in Chrome or have a tonne of stuff open. Unslain Bosses - Clan
