Finding roommates is becoming a pain mainly because I'm graduating with no college loan debt to pay, but majority of my co-workers come from expensive universities with $100k+ debt.
I'm wanting a high-end apartment with great amenities and the co-workers want to live low for a while to pay the debt. Lol.
Well, their plan makes sense.
Problem is... we're all on same salary, I made budget (being a spreadsheet wizard, I created this and distributed to my co-workers lol):

This is based on paying $1700 part of the rent (so the apartment is $3400.) After all general assumptions, and maxing out the 401k retirement limit of $18k per year (this is american thing), we all can bank $22k before entertainment/recreation costs.
Can easily afford paying $1k per month for college loans which exceeds the usual monthly payment:

Now in the actual case, some co-workers didn't want to pay $1,700 part of rent. In fact, one didn't want to pay more than $1,000 which shocked me.
I'm really thinking they don't have a budget figured out and haven't gotten used to the cost of living in San Francisco Bay Area - I had an established employee tell me that I'm ahead in the financial awarenes so :s
I just don't want to live in a rugged apartment when I can comfortably live in a great location and still bank money..
