I know vsync gets the monitor framerate to match that of games or something along those lines, but I had no idea that it caps the actual framerate of games.
Hi
It gets your GPU to only render X frames, where X is the refresh rate of your monitor, however..
If your FPS drops below X, it will go to Y, where Y is X/2, which is why people dislike VSync because that causes stuttering if you drop below X every so often.
However on RS, I've been above 60 FPS everywhere, so VSync is good for me.

I always just went by if you turn it on, it does more processing. In the specific case processing being trying to sync the framerates to give you a smoother game (no tearing or w/e). So if you want things to run faster turn it off.
I'll mess a bit with adaptive/on and see what works for me I guess, good to know thanks.
Hi
Does adaptive mean the game is doing the adaptive sync, or that your monitor (FreeSync/G-Sync monitors) are doing the sync? I assumed it was the latter..
Also @Lust, your Twitter avatar is amazing on my watch
