I can only imagine how much the economy is going to get rekt by invention...
Have a large number of items, and a large amount of gold; sink a significant amount of those items, while the gold stays roughly the same. Suddenly everything is super expensive, because there is so much gold with so few items available to buy...
Lol @ people who think inflation is bad now, it is going to put RS into a state of Hyperinflation...
^^
Isn't that kinda false? The only thing that seems hyper inflated right now is the discontinued market. I think this has to do with gear being so over supplied and honestly having very little demand.
The amount of items a person effectively needs to own has seemed to dwindle over the years. We used to want all sets of Nex armor, all of the spirit shields, dragon claws, etc etc. Now? You can get by pretty much everywhere with void and gwd sets and you honestly only need one style of t90 weapons. Each t90 clearly has a use, but I'd bet most players lean on one of the weapons a lot heavier than they do spreading around the use distribution.
Anyway. People clearly are investing their capital into rares, because theres no reason to invest it anywhere else currently. After invention is released, we finallllllllllly have a chance and a reason to invest capital in something OTHER than rares. So honestly the rares market should decrease, because it should become more lucrative to spread capital around as more areas of the economy suddenly gain value.
In all honestly Invention will probably fall flat and barely put a dent in the massive stockpiles of finished products within the game.
Theres probably some hope for the unique slayer dropped items to regain some of their former value, just because its simply much harder to mass produce those compared to things like royal d hide, rune armor, bows from fletching, etc. So if the lifeblood of the actual good perks are ONLY possible to get through the higher tiered gear, then some long needed demand for the high end may resurface.
I certainly miss the days where gear cost as much as discontinued items. It still bugs me that t90 power armor is just so... farmable. Wheres the fun in that?
I was worked out how much it costs for 'max gear', and Void is just so versatile now it makes Nex sets redundant, as anywhere where you need the bonus on GWD armour, it's likely better to take void..
