I used mage many months ago. It works well. I've also seen quite a handful of people using it (mostly with nox staff).

I only switched to Range because I wanted the xp before. I found magic to be more fun than Range honestly. I used dw seis.

Now I melee though because I prefer it. .

I recall trying to mage them when I got them for the first ever time.
Killed 14 with great struggle and effort and skipped the task and swore to never kill another one again. If it were more common task I'd block it, but it seems quite uncommon gladly.

Ive only killed 8 edimmu lol, they were on my blocklist for a while. Then I just skipped them in favour of faster tasks cos I dont like fighting them.

My luck farming drops is terribad so its not like i missed many drops on way to 120 slayer. Everything I kill for profit gives me bugger all. Untradeable crap I sometimes do well with tho.
Accidently surged up a dinosaurs ass, became stuck then activated double surge and burst out its chest alien-style!
Got his dragon mattocks then crashed the clan citadel into Anachronia wiping out the dinosaurs.

Gotta keep at it if you want to "make bank" when it comes to requiring luck for drops. You eventually get it if you keep going. The mistake is giving up too early.

Edimmus were an amazing task (still kind of are) back on release. The profit just raked in. I had my faire share of relatively large dry streaks but it evened out in the end. .
