Both the gold package (irl or bonds) and members with bonds are overpriced if you have the old rate (3.20 or the one after that, remember bonds cost money) but the 365 spins make gold worth it without a second thought. People buy bonds with real life money and sell them through the G.E.
People like RWH then buy those bonds for the gold package.

People will always buy VIP no matter what. There's no "rallying" against it by not buying it. It's just like TH promos - ceasing giving into them yourself isn't going to make a damn difference because for every one person that decides to stop, hundreds more decide to give in.

It's a battle we cannot win unless everyone decides to pretty much stop doing X, which is highly unlikely (near impossible I'd say). .
