The main problem I have to say is still RNG. Which all combat is nowadays, before it used to be OP claw specs or a 496-496 DDS spec.
Now it's who hits the highest Range Tendril/Snapshot hit.
Who hit's the highest Berserk-Hurricane hit.
Who hit's the highest Meta-Wild Magic Hit.
If you miss, you're considered a shit pker and if you hit high, you're considered good and if you do crit all those hits, it's an almost guaranteed OHKO, the power creep with t90s and those ability combos are WAY TOO HIGH! Nothing's changed other than it takes a bit more skill and slightly more focused ability management but yeah RNG is a big offender here. It's either on your side or not and even when you have the combat edge (melee theoretically beating range) Melee RNG on your side can suck whereas Range can turn around, defy all logic and slap you in the face with a 8k tendril 4k 5k snapshot while your Zerk Hurricane hits the bare minimum or misses.
Pi's idea for Range kinda bad.
Melee too.
Swap Range for Mage and make Melee better overall damage and better defence. Mage for high damage low defence and Range for mediocre damage and defence but better mobility and flexibility. Melee won't be that OP since distance is the big offender there too!
