The GBA annoyed me lol. The first edition had a really bad screen with no backlight. The SP added a backlight (and a clamshell design), but then they removed the headphone jack!
So without third-party peripherals, I had to give up one of two key things to my gaming experience - lighting or sound.
Thank god for the DS Lite and its adjustable brightness
