gen 5 is where i stopped buying all the versions for the gen :L
Idk crystal prob takes the cake for me, the "post" game of having 8 extra gyms and revisiting kanto w/ the introduction of animations to pokemon was #1. I remember my brother bought a strategy guide for red/blue and I used that and age of empires 1 to teach myself to read lel.
@RSNAlan
Gen 2's post-game looks great (and I thought it was awesome as a kid), but these days I feel it kind of detracts from the overall difficulty and experience of Johto sadly
I mean all Pokémon games are easy (Gen 5 and 6 so much so), but that's just how it was for me. Heartgold/Soulsilver truly gives Gen 2 a great facelift though, and I love those games too. Just not as much as the ones I listed back then.
I remember I bought a Pokemon Emerald strategy guide after I beat the game, purely because on the front it said something about how to get Deoxys, turns out it just said what to do after you'd received a code given out at Toys 'r' Us stores like 2 months ago, mugged me off of £10 or something lol

Yeah I guess, for most people, their first run-through of Gen IV will be really hard, as there are some difficult battles in there - if you don't have an ice type, Cynthia's Garchomp absolutely owns lol.

Now you can get Deoxys for free in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire after recruiting the god of Pokémon Mega Rayquaza

And YES, I loved the delta episode!
The only Pokémon that was able to go toe-to-toe with her Garchomp was my OP Dialga with Roar of Time to come close to one-shotting it after wearing it down with some weaker attacks :d
Cynthia in Gen 4 is my favorite Champion battle. The fights in Gen 5 are still fun, but by then there were a bunch of new Dragon-types that could wreck her Garchomp just as easily lol
The Delta Episode was awesome yes, hopefully we get more expansion in the next games. That small 2 hour section was more story-driven than the entire main plot lol
