That's because SN, Arrow and The Flash are mostly "episodic". There is a background storyline, yes, but The 100 was entirely storyline. I prefer the latter (Although Fringe was an exception for some reason).

The Originals are meh because Julie Plec is an awful writer that can't kill her characters. The whole premise behind The Originals is getting old too.
