Risky move, Microsoft.
That's funny, considering Microsoft Office 365 has a new SUBSCRIPTION program.
From my university:
" You are authorized to use Office 365 Pro Plus until you are no longer enrolled at BLAH BLAH. Students must connect devices using Office 365 Pro Plus to the Internet at least once every 30 days for an automatic verification of enrollment status. When you are no longer enrolled, your license to use Office 365 Pro Plus will expire, per Microsoft's licensing terms. When your license expires, you will see a message that reads: "Your Subscription Has Expired," and Office will enter a read-only, reduced functionality mode, which will only permit you to view, send, and print documents within the expired software. Once your subscription has expired, Microsoft will direct you to a web page where you will be offered an opportunity to continue your subscription directly through Microsoft (be sure to consider your options)."
