Well going from the level 40 spot to the level 50 spot was over a 50% jump in exp rate, so another 50% jump would be close to 40k

Yes and no. Each chronicle fragment is worth about 10 harvests and you need to take into account time to turn in the fragment and return. If people keep beating you to capturing the chronicle fragments then its a waste of time and effort.
