It was a good idea, until this week when disconnects stepped up the game.
They even tried spreading the event over half a dozen worlds with a member cap. They just picked a bad week and derped when they didn't push back the event this week.
To be fair the servers wouldn't have been able to handle it better on a different week... If it had been next week, the worlds would still have massive latency issues because they can't support more than ~700 or so players without reaching the point of frustration
