Other 'composite' tasks work like that too, where certain smaller subtasks must be done, in any order, for the task to complete.
Underground pass for example only requires a chat with Klank (up to the point you can pay 5k for gloves or decline), and picklocking one of the thieving doors found in the middle of the pass. In fact it would be faster to visit Klank from the end of the pass, or through death altar which can be accessed from the temple of light, the abyss, or even the wicked hood (or even teleport tabs). After that subtask is done, simply move backwards in the pass to the doors and picklock one of them to complete the other subtask.
Moss pillars require two subtasks, harvesting moss from a pillar under vos, and adding moss in a juju farming potion under vos. They can also be done in any order.
And so on..
