It's just to avoid problems with people you had in the past and getting over the past. Instead of being confronted with it on a daily basis just for visiting the forums.

They'd need to revamp the whole forums first before such a feature gets implemented. Revamping forums is not on the list of priorities though, so could be a long time before we see features such as ignore lists here.

Definitely support it. It just won't come any time soon. :P
