Metroid games do collect all the missiles if 100% but that still uses glitches. The term sequence breaking comes from metroid, and it means you just play the game at any order, completely ruining the sequence of both story and power ups. I don't like using glitches when actually playing myself (a reason being I haven't practiced enough) and I absolutely hate sequence breaking but I accept that the majority of speedrun categories will use them lol. I am some sort of semi professional runner myself so I just play my own categories and play them fast. For metroid in particular, I usually play prime 1 and 2 on emulator (I don't have an NTSC console) and I just 100% item and scan it as fast as I can lol.
