The proper way to level mining is wbs or don't train it until Elf City, silly.

I've no idea what the best thing to do is, but when I've had it for Soul Reaper, when the core spawns I just sort of use one side of Corp like, attack, run 2 spaces, attack, run 2 spaces, etc, etc

Corp is pretty annoying to solo, just use the grouping system to find where everyone is massed at.
