March's Caption Competition Winners



Last month's photo showed a Golden Gnome who had escaped from our trophy cabinet and sneaked into our games room to play Guitar Hero.


We asked you to imagine what was going on, and you came up with some fantastic captions.

This month, congratulations go to... Epsio0 , whose entry (although longer than usual) was brilliantly inventive and the most popular here in the office. We are delighted to give him two months' complimentary membership to RuneScape and a RuneScape mouse mat signed by Mark Gerhard and a selection of other J Mods.

Our awesome runner up was PirateBobert who will receive one month's RuneScape membership.

Here are the winners, and the 'best of the rest' captions -

"After many attempts to work out how the 'colour-box' functions, I come to the conclusion that in order to operate the contraption, one must relinquish himself and succumb to a comfortable seat. After which, he must indulge in these so-called 'crisps' - a delicacy in these parts.

One must also hold a peculiar wand, where there are buttons that correspond to the hues of the 'colour-box'. This can only mean one thing, and I fear to say it - the humans have developed a machine that will further develop their use of the arcane arts. I must report this to my fellow gnomes before more of my brethren are kidnapped.

I can only pray that I live through the horrid torture in time, before the humans unleash their madness...

Who the Zamorak?



Each month, we give you a selection of facts about a mystery J-Mod and invite you to guess who it might be!

Last month 's facts were all about Mod Kat , and the winner was... nobody! There were some good guesses backed up with interesting reasoning, but I guess Kat's clues were just a little bit too cryptic for you all.

And now on to this month's contest! Here are ten clues about another J-Mod from the Community Management team.

All the clues are true (and ever so slightly odd, but that is half the fun!)


  • I have travelled to five continents;

  • I speak three languages;

  • I have dual nationality;

  • I appreciate lasagne;

  • I love collectible card games like MTG;

  • My dancing could be described as 'interesting';

  • I love RPGs...

  • ...but I am not a long-time RuneScape player...

  • ...although I do have a set of bunny ears (on my J-Mod account).

  • I have hosted several large parties - both in RuneScape and IRL.


There are no prizes for Who The Zamorak?, it's just for fun. So get your thinking caps on, and when you think you know who it is, post your answer on this thread! If you get it right, we'll list your name in next month's newsletter.

So there you have it, everyone - another edition of the Gielinor Globe has landed on your virtual doorstep. I really hope you enjoy reading it!

(One thing I should mention - if you've won a prize, you will get an inbox message from me. One or two of the winners from previous months are still awaiting their prizes and/or notifications, and for that I apologise - there have been some unexpected delays at this end (for example it proved trickier than I thought to get hold of the mouse mats!) but everything is now in place so I will get this sorted out ASAP. Thanks for your patience! :) )

I think the clan update will be helpful for those who don't already have a clan. Sounds like it'll be a good update. ^_^
