Why haven't I bought anything?
They have nothing that interests me. Sure some of the stuff is cutesy, and there are a few neat options, but none that I am willing to pay for, not to mention also having shipped.
If you wanted to get me to buy something, here is what I would be looking for.
1. Something cool looking. They've had a few dragons I think, but lots of regular stores have shirts with dragons on them. I want something epic, not just decent.
2. You don't really tap into players' likes that much. Sure, you have some cutesy stuff, but the players that are most likely to buy your stuff, are the ones who are really into, "role playing," or at least following the story and world. Don't just have one Saradomin shirt, or one Bandos cup, get a bunch involving main characters. Remember, I'm going to be wearing these around people who for the most part, don't know about this game. Just a blue shirt that has a phat on it won't explain much. If someone asks me what it is, and I start to explain to them, they'll be like, "Ok, weird, whatever." I want something where, even if they still don't know much about the game, they can look at that shirt and say, "Awesome!" No inside jokes please.
3. Most things aren't practical. Yes, coffee cups are nice. I like coffee, and I drink it out of a cup. But I'm not gonna pay extra for a fancy coffee cup with a Runescape logo. Basically, most of your stuff are "gift shop items." Include more things with real uses, like Runescape Music, maybe "toy" versions of certain items (like those nerf swords, but a godsword instead or something), maybe jewelry for the girls, magnetic bookmarks, maybe wall posters or "banners." And make the clothing more worth wearing. Players are gonna order these to "show off" their favorite game, so it has to be something they will take with them (which is why coffee cups aren't practical). It's also why it has to be cool enough as well.
