Da Panter Nl, I've already answered your question. Let me find it...

Updated:

Yup, few pages back. Look for our responses before assuming we haven't read your posts! ;)

"THE LINK TO THIS FORUM THREAD IS STILL NOT CLICKABLE!

how hard can it be? :P or aren't you people reading this thread?"

Which link? The QFC in the poll intro text? That's not a link! Sadly, we currently can't use links in the poll intros.

:(

Seemed like a pretty pointless poll. Want my feedback? I thought it was unnecessary to use a poll that sounds unprofessional and like a ten year old wrote it; and according to the poll, it probably was. I don't see the reasoning in these new "hip" sounding polls that appeal to people's decaying language. Why not make some serious polls that are actually serious, you know, about the GAME.

Just found this thread, never even knew it existed. Perhaps it should belong in Suggestions or Constructive Criticism Forums? Makes more sense to exist in one of them in my opinion.

Anyway, onto my main point. A few days ago you announced that the first bonus experience weekend (BEW as referred to later on) was a success. However, there is absolutely no evidence that this is true.

My question to you is; Will there be a poll after the forthcoming BEW regarding players thoughts on it?

I know you don't usually release a poll about brand new content as soon as it has been released, but the BEW is a different type of update which does require quantitative feedback as well as qualitative feedback. We already have the forums for the qualitative feedback, allow a poll to get the quantitative feedback.

My main reason for suggesting this is that I remember what the forum feedback was like last time. Unfortunately, only one negative point has been rectified (Summoning is now limited), but this has now opened up a wealth of more problems IN ADDITION TO the problems that were there before.

If you do go ahead and release a post-BEW poll, please do not ask leading questions. I feel that there are a lot of honest players out there who already feel cheated by the BEW already.

EDIT: There was a poll pre-BEW the first time, and that showed conclusively that players were excited about it. However, it was something new, and players almost always get excited about something new. This, however, is not representative of how the RS population now feels.

A Cole - Thanks for the feedback, you've made some interesting points there.

There was a poll before the "BEW" as you call it, but you're right that we didn't run one after.

Bonus XP Weekend (05-Mar-2010)

It's funny you should say there was no evidence. I mean, how would you know? Much of our feedback documentation is quite rightly kept within the company. :-)

We did indeed collect *extensive* feedback (I believe the document went into the tens-of-pages) and the consensus was that bonus XP weekends are a good thing to do in moderation and that we'd have some tweaks to make if we were to do it again. You can rest assured that the feedback we gathered will be kept heavily in mind with the planning of the upcoming event.

Thanks!

Thanks for that reply so soon.

I was a very active member of the Suggestions and Game Feedback communities in the past so I understand that you do keep files on feedback hidden away in your HQ. The evidence I was on about, however, was that which the public can see.

The fact that only one thing has been changed since the first BEW indicates to me that not all feedback had been read and/or taken into account.

I know releasing information can be dangerous, but I remember clearly that you stated that if the first BEW would be a success, you'd continue to run more BEWs. The fact that there is another BEW forthcoming indicates the latter BEW was a success, but there is no evidence to the public to back this up.

I believe that a poll would be a good indication for the players of whether success has been reached.

EDITED:

It was hidden because that isn't what this thread is for. Have a look at the first post - it's always a good idea to read it so you know what the thread is for. ;-)
