Sorry that you didn't hear anything back before now. I passed it along on May 7th. This was the reply I got. Probably not what you wanted to hear though.

I'm inclined to keep this locked for now, as I don't see what having it unlocked would do unless there is a plan to address this bug soon.

For now, I'll reach out to Jagex about the issue to see if anything's changed, and on the off chance it has, I'd reopen it... but if not, I don't see how it would be useful.
