FisherGaming - A few of us took a look at the thread when it was briefly locked for cleanup earlier this evening. In this case, there's a fine line between a troll thread to cause unrest, and a suggestion that while one may not agree with what is proposed, and might be unlikely to be considered, is not outrageous to the point that it isn't something that would ever be implemented.
In the case of that thread, the simple way to respond could be that you feel that the target group would likely not be interested in or take advantage of the proposed solution (with your defence for your position being that Ironmen are interested in buckets of sand, rather than molten glass, as you had stated later on the thread). And, if someone is baiting you on the thread to the point of causing a flame war, not engaging further via responding to the thread often can help calm things down.
With the above said, the suggestion itself isn't necessarily 'outrageous' - an additional response could be that if the target group wants that item from a monster drop, they are more than welcome to level up their slayer to 93 and kill the Thermonuclear Smoke Devil for them (the only other monster to drop that item in OSRS currently).
At this time, now that the thread has been set on track, its best to let it play out, and should things get out of hand once more, it can be revisited at that time.
