I encourage you to not give up on the game. While Jagex's policy is that they do not return items lost due to account theft , the hijackers cannot steal your skill levels, and therefore you should be able to quickly earn back what you have lost. There is also a link in the article for you to use to provide Jagex with additional information on the hijacking to help them catch the hijacker.
