Hopefully this will get some attention. There is a scam now that involves impersonating Jagex staff. They will say you have been selected to be a player mod in game then make you go through a test. First they quiz you on reporting, then tell you to go to the grand exchange and report all the advertising links, then thirdly they ask for a "trust test" and tell you to give them all of what you are wearing and carrying that is over 10k+. Now, having worked as a staff on games on and off for 10 years, I knew better.
This is straight from Jagex.
"If you are selected for a Player Moderator invitation, a message will be sent to your Jagex secure message centre inviting you to register with us through the Player Moderator Centre, so be sure to read any messages carefully. Once you have accepted and the confirmation has been received, you will get your silver crown and moderator abilities. Jagex never offers moderator status by external email, in-game or on third-party websites."
Everyone kindly be aware. The character that tried to get a hold of me was Jagteam Kyle, and had a friend assist in the scam by making it sound believable. Many senior players would not fall for this but younger folks may. Spread the world.
