If someone makes a thread and it's a question you can answer or thats been asked before somewhere. Then I see no reason why you can't link to the thread where the answer is. You might also be fine to quote the answer in the thread where the new question is.

Remember the Forums are here for fun and for all to enjoy, so if you can help someone out with an answer please do.

Also F-Mods don't lock threads rudely because someone is after help. ;)
