In preparation for cramming ourselves with food later in the month, this Winter Weekend will be crammed full of the following in-game bonuses for Bossing and Slaying :


  • Improved drops from the following bosses: Kalphite King and Giant Mole.

  • Increased chance of rare drops and enhanced ring of wealth.

  • Charm drops give one more charm than normal.

  • 50% increased base slayer XP.

  • Double points from regular and group slayer assignments.

  • Over the period of the weekend, all assigned Slayer tasks are treated as using a Slayer VIP Ticket.

  • 10% cheaper instance fees.

  • Extra training points from Boss Training.



This Winter Weekend will run from 11th December at 12:00 UTC until 14th December at 12:00 UTC . Enjoy!

I was wondering about the specifics of the above perk. Increased chance of rare drops and enhanced row across the board, for anything we fight? Or only for slayer tasks?

And when you say "rare drops" do you mean the RDT or unique monster drops like Glacor boots, God armour & hilts from GWD, Sigils etc?

Also, could you please help resolve an argument about the Ring of Wealth:

Does it or does it not increase chance of access to the Rare drop table?

I don't believe it does simply because of the fact that my row has never ever shined once for a rdt drop.

Aye, refer also to my questions a couple of posts above.

It would be nice if Jagex could be a little more specific sometimes. It would help us better understand and plan how to engage in such events.

I've heard of players getting double RDT drops since this weekend event started but it doesnt say anything about that above, unless that's what they mean by "increased chances of rare drops", in which case they should really have stated 'double Rare Drop Table drops', or something to that effect. Or is that what VIP slayer means?

P.S. Giant Mole got a drops buff during the Fally event not long ago. It would have been nice to give the Mole a rest and give some other monster a go.
