I haven't played runescape in a few years, every year though I HAVE logged in and checked it out for a little bit to see whats new and if its gotten better, because I quit playing in 2008, shortly after the restriction of trade and wildy. The wildy change would have SEEMED to make it less dangerous, but the addition of revenants didnt change it at all. I still like the idea of special worlds with the new wildy, but the old wilderness should be brought back.
Yesterday I decided to check out runescape again, to see if any game-changing updates were made.
And boy was I surprised.
That 760k vote counter made me gasp when I say "Bring back Free Trade and the Old Wilderness"
Free trading was what made runescape what it IS.
A free economy is what makes the game amazing, since the price of ANY item is determined directly by the players. Supply and Demand. Yes, the grand exchange was an amazing addition, but without the ability to freely modify the price due to circumstance, the changing price of the G.E. were subtle and only related to long-term supply and demand. This long-term supply and demand also allowed for a new 'version' of merchanting, which i quickly found out was mostly scamming, unlike the old version of merchanting (which I loved to do), buy when you find a good deal, sell when someone really needs it.
I really believe that now, at 90% and over 800k votes Yes, I cannot wait to get back into RuneScape and start playing again!
