Jagex is incapable of handling even the amount of bots we have today, how could you possibly imagine them getting the huge influx of bots that would undoubtedly flood the game if free trade were ever to be brought back? If I had kept a list of all the obvious bots that I've ever reported up to now, and if I checked the hiscores I would probably find that a large amount of them are still there, and have probably voted to bring back free trade.
That said, would I have wanted free trade back? Yes, but, and this is important, Jagex can't handle the bots.
This is even before you look at the fact that this voting system is incredibly flawed. They (Jagex) say that there are restrictions in place, however there is no indication of what restrictions those are. Judging by the number of votes already, and how many players are active, it's clear to me that those restrictions are insufficient.
There are a number of concerns that are still unaccounted for:
1. There is no "vote no" button. You can't take silence as "no" as there are people who don't even know about the vote, for instance so they can't give their votes and not only that, but there are people who made the mistake of not reading the page fully before "casting their vote". I'm not one of them, but there are people who were expecting, among other things, that there would be a login prompt and a choice between yes and no. The least they could do is at least put "Vote yes" on the button, instead of "Vote now".
2. No login required. How many people have just gone to a random part of the hiscores and started inputting usernames to artificially increase votes? I hear that a bot has even been created to do this very thing.
3. Apparently you can vote multiple times with the same name according to some people.

Until these issues are resolved and the vote is reset, it is an egregious example of Jagex's poor planning, implementation, and falling back on previous decisions.
Though I hate copypasta, this needs to be seen.

P.S.: The voting system is completely bias. There is no option to vote against the proposed idea, one can use other players' names, and one name can vote multiple times. Also, the way the page looks now, having the 'Vote Now!' button automatically vote for Yes, that is false advertisement and is punishable by law, even if it is only for a game. Money is involved.
======================

First of all, it is NOT false advertising moron. Secondly, the VOTE button says "VOTE YES" not vote now, as you claimed.
If you're too dumb to read the voting page, then you fail and don't deserve a say in this matter anyway.

BRING BACK WILDERNESS !!! Honestly My Character is built to be a pker and I have spent my long hours training it like a lot of other players, Hearing the end of the wilderness was my nightmare.. I Honestly did not play RuneScape properly for 2 year's, i am starting to get back into it, and Now i here of this? its just a miracle, I really want this back Jagex,
And for the trade limit, i have no problem with it how it is at the moment, maybe leave it as it is or even tweak it? It would prevent a lot of scamming etc,
But I WANT the wildy back,

I started playing in 2005. I didn't like the system then. What bonus is there to players with a fear of losing their items? If you want that- go kill tormented demons or the corporeal beast or chaos elemental. I was so tired of all the p-killing enthusiasts that would gripe about sharks or high-def noobs or saying people were dishonourable for running away. The old system was fine for people who were good at pkilling but did they ever freak when an update turned things to someone else's advantage. I think people killing each other for their stuff is mean spirited and it creates an unfair atmosphere in the game. I know a lot of p killers that brag about how much money they make- and it doesn't bother me because they do it in worlds where everyone agrees to the terms. It would change if they bragged about how much money they made off the unsuspecting, non-consenting players they caught off guard. I am a long time player and I like the wildy the way it is!

"For the first 5 years of this game the wildy operated fine. Im sick of people saying well I like to quest and skill in the wildy.
HELLOOO people did that! Its not like it was a completely disfunctional zone. People say well its gonna be hard to do the quests now. Thats good, the game should be a challenge."
I truely <3 u
Half the ppl whining werent even on when this stuff existed and cant comprehend that these things existed before wildy was nerfed.
Trade limits on the other hand have always hurt those who hate quest and simply skilled or pked.
^feel free to copy and paste this wherever as im tired of hearing others whine when this is so obvious.

If you read it in context, you can see that what I say is that ad hominum attack is immature, not the yes votes*

Ive been playing Runescape since 2003 and i was on the verge of quiting the past couple of weeks. Now Jagex have revealed that we have an option to vote for the old wilderness and trade limit back. Us the "players" can actually have our say for once. I dont have an issue with having the wilderness ditch staying and also G.e which helps us as the players buy our items quickly. When Jagex got rid of the wildy 3 years ago , i would say 95% of the population of runescape were upset with getting rid of the wildy update and replacing it with bounty hunter. I feel that after that update happend we lost 40% or maybe more of Runescape players. Now Jagex are going to give us a say on if we want the old wildy and trade limit back. I think this is the best update you [Jagex] are going to make. This will recruit all the old players that have now quit. I have been talking to alot of my old friends and if the wildy + trade limit comes back they will definetley play again. The voting for the old wildy + trade hasnt even been out for 24 hours and there is nearly 1.1 million votes.
I vote YESSSS ofcourse :D D " We Pay to Pk "

The vote should have been split into a vote for wild and a seperate vote for free trade
As a non pker i think it would be a major setback to have origanal wild back in all worlds due to all the great updates and games that can now be done in the wild, like pengs, stars, beakons, and the such. I can see PK clans camping at the above metioned sites and making non pkers getting frustrated with the game. if the wild was kept on the pvp worlds and not non pvp worlds then it could work well
As far as free trade i am all for it though it would encourage a few to start scaming and account stealing. but i think it is a small few that will do that. there are many times i would like to help friends and family in the game and are limeted by trade limits. i would keep the Lend item option. just to protect high value items.
Thanks
Delfiie
Keep rocking Jagex!

One Bad Wiz, I looked at the page and indeed it says "VOTE NOW". If people would read the page fully they would see what they're getting into, but most people don't read things fully before clicking. It's just like the terms of service for downloading software, no one reads those either for the most part.
