Okay, to all you idiots saying 'OMG HALP PLAYRZ ATK ME WILE I KILL DA GREEN DRAGS OMGOGMOG'..
It used to be that way. The wilderness was dangerous. Every world NEEDS to be instated that way, clue scrolls were meant to be challenging. I used to world-hop to find clue scrollers, and kill them. It was a blast.
Trade restrictions was one of the worst ideas I have heard Jagex come up with. I am an '01 player. When trying to get in to world 2 to trade took a good 15 minutes. It was fun, you finally got that feeling of.. well.. accomplishment.
And the wilderness as far as I can say. It was full rune, with a zerker and a whip. That was THE wilderness set-up for us. Occasionally you would have a person bring a barrows set in, and people would go crazy, following him and everything. And the weapon of choice was a DDS to spec out your opponent.
If you seriously don't understand how much 'FUN' the old RS was, you're probably an '08 baby. You guys got hand-fed.
In old RS, the green dragons were actually a challenge, and D bones were about 5k ea in world 2. There were 3 great pk spots I could think of. The 'castle' near edgeville, 'fally drags', which was the green dragon spawn north of Falador, and the good ole' multi Varrock. Barrages, and Blitzes galore.
I would just love to see how the newbs ('08+) fare in the new wilderness, getting... well.. owned. Hardcore.
Now when I started RS, there were legit pures, such as pure mage, pure range, and str pures, and you could enter the wilderness at level 3, and start leveling up your skills from there in pvp. And if you were f2p, you would hang around varrock west bank to buy all of your goods, and you were finally ready to go in and pk.
And who could forget the good ol' Edge merchanters?
"selling lobs 300ea, must buy 100 or more!"
Those are the things that made Runescape what Runescape was supposed to be. And nobody can tell me different.
Ok, '08 babies, we dealt with the changes, now it's your turn to deal with it.
