We all can tell that this is an attempt to correct the mistakes of the past decade in preparation for the next. As someone who has been on RS almost as long as it's been around, I feel I need to explain a few things before I cast my vote. My brothers introduced me to Runescape in the Summer of 2002; the first MMO I had ever seen. I chose my look, my username, and the profession I wanted to pursue; fishing. I continued to play until the Winter, and after obtaining a then free Santa hat, I quit playing until the beta test. After that I casual dropped by, but I never continuously played until the spring of 2006. Things were getting more complex, and I was enjoying it even more. I was not a PKer, never enjoyed it. I remember the day the wilderness was removed, I was...unemotional; it didn't effect me. Then the trade laws; being someone who had lost 2 Santa hats to hackers, I was a wee bit happy. With the new trade laws in effect, and the Grand Exchange, I was making a healthy profit as a fisherman. Now we are here deciding whether or not to restore the Wilderness and remove the Trade Laws. It with great motivation, and my love of this this game that I cast my vote...
YES, RESTORE THE WILDERNESS AND REMOVE THE TRADE LAWS

It may seem strange that I would vote for something that would be detrimental to me, but Runescape is about more than that. We play MMO's to escape our daily confines, it seems foolish to impose such limits in our haven. I want the Wilderness restored and the Trade Laws removed, because it adds more to Runescape; it makes the game better. We're not hear to learn lessons in Socialist Economics, we are here to have fun! Heavy restrictions and removing something many players held dear is not the best course of action. Jagex, you, just like your players must take the good with the bad. If a good game means hackers and gold farmers, then I suppose we'll have to deal. That being said, I ask you, Please remove the Trade Laws, and Restore the Wilderness.

*sorry for the grammar*

My vote is an emphatic NO.
I started playing runescape about 1 year before the trade/wilderness changes were implemented and still to this day 4 years on it was the best update Jagex ever put out in my opinion.
At the time I was playing as a free player and training any harvesting skill (woodcutting, mining, fishing) was just horrible due to the number of bots/gold farmers for websites. I am not exaggerating when I say it was extremely difficult to cut yews when there was always at least 1 skiller farmer lvl 3 there cutting them at any given point... and if you went to one of the more popular locations you were more likely to see 8 to 10 of them.
Before the Grand Exchange buying or selling things was like diving into a shark pool. You had hundreds of merchanters on the trading worlds looking to give you garbage deal so they could make a profit. And even if you did hear someone offering a fair deal you were hard pressed to try to find them through the crouds and hoards of people spamming their trade details. If you didn't go to the trade worlds you would be lucky to find someone to buy from or sell to at all.
The third thing that the GE/Wild update did was to essentially kill off scamming all at once. I can't even count the number of times that I had to tell people that the person offering to trim your armor was scamming you or that the person selling a Wine of Zamorak for 100k is ripping you off. I may have been fairly smart about my trades but it was painful to watch people be scammed and to always interrupt whatever I was doing to intervene.
Jagex has gone to great lengths to give players many PvP options in Runescape without ruining the game by opening up loopholes.
Jagex please please PLEASE DO NOT bring back the open trading and old wildy. Every hour that you spend combatting the problems caused by them is 1 hour less spent working on legitimate updates. Adding them back in will do nothing but harm Runescape.

NO! We CANNOT have these back! It will re-open easy ways for people to cheat at this game! Yes, I miss free trade and the old Wilderness, but we just can't have them back...
Here's another good reason: We can't have the Wilderness back because too many quests take place in the Wilderness now. The Quest Cape already requires more exp to get than a Skill Cape, it doesn't need to be harder. Believe me, I'm a pro quester with the Cape, I know*
***-introducing Free Trade and the Wilderness will cause more trouble than it will good. Please don't bring them back...
Before I posted this, I was at the Chaos Tunnels trying to kill Green Dragons with a friend of mine. He couldn't get any kills, and I only got a few, because the place was absolutely swarmed by bots. Do people really want to see more cheating like this?!

You stupid 09ers, just shut up. You never played real runescape. lol @ the idiot above me saying that it's too dangerous to do his clue scrolls. What a joke, you obviously never played before revs were in the game. Back in the good old days before you stupid 12 year old 09ers decided to play this game, it was ACTUALLY FUN! Most of you losers who are saying they don't want pking back don't even pk. So please, keep cutting trees or whatever you nerds do. I would love to see staking come back as well, which it probably will since they're bringing free trade and staking was taken out shortly before the wilderness and free trade.
I support, I'm also mad that it's taken you so long to realize your mistake. The only thing that I'll miss is luring, good memories from when this game was in it's prime.

I have a few things to say:
I am excited that this is being considered. The old wilderness was great, and no trade limit was wonderful. I frequently gave my friends gifts for Christmas and other holidays. Now I can only give up to 240k? Doesn't seem quite fair.
BUT! Of course, there is a lot of rumors. I need them to be cleared up.
I've read Mod Dowd's comments on the rumor about Guinness world records being FAKE, so I'm not so concerned about that.
I do ask: How many votes will it take to implement the old wildy/trade back in the game?
What will happen to the Grand Exchange?
How will you control the scammers/RWT'ers?
Will drop trading be outlawed, or will it still be in-game (but against rules) ?
----
No matter what you do, there will always be cheaters, and why should we, the public, be punished for them? Not all of us cheat. Just watch closely and give the ban-hammer to the sore losers.
JUST CURIOUS!
Can't wait to see the outcome!
