I for one find this shameful. I have been playing for over 5 years now, and not one single update has ever made me this sad. I was a bit shocked when they removed free trade, and it took getting used to, but when I understood their reasons, I supported them.
First of all, the voting system is severely flawed. there are posts about this everywhere. You've seen them.
Secondly, I don't want people to think I'm opposed to this because of gameplay. I survived before the wilderness was removed and the GE brought in, and I survived after it. I can do both. My reasons are not related to that.
The point I would like to make is that I don't believe that Jagex has the tools to combat RWT if it has the same opportunities (free trade) as before. The removal of incentives for RWT is what made them leave. As Jagex *tated upon removal of free trade, it was an arms race between them and the RWTers. They are fools if they think that they have improved while the bots haven't.
In 2007 Jagex made the best advances ever seen in the fight against bots and RWTing. Now they claim they may undo all that.
I will wait and see what the outcome is instead of ragequitting over a possibility. However, if they do reinstate free trade, let the RWTers back, and erase the giant leap forward that they made, I will register my vote by cancelling my subscription and leaving this game behind.
If you think you had financial problems from credit refunds Jagex, don't add to it by having people quit because they are forced out by bots**

Interesting + weird.
The keyword is "majority of votes".
If "half the players +1" vote as yes then the wilderness and free trading shall be back. Am I right?
I would like to know what the majority of votes is then?
The voting is maxed to 9999999 players. So I assume that runescape hasn't got any more accounts that are able to vote?
This also means that if the votingcount passes 5 million votes, then the old wilderness + free trading shall be back as a fact (It is more likely then that a majority of votes is less than 5 million).

A bit weird. To let a decision depend on a votecount this way.
1. Many accounts are not used anymore, so they can never be counted in the poll. Many of them are probably from players who left runescape because of the wilderness-, staking-, and trading-update(s).
2. Players who have started their runescape-career in 2007 don't even know what free trade is or the feeling of play in the old wilderness. They have no clue what they will be voting for, so they shouldn't be counted as counterpart to voting.
3. Players who never tried pking or dislike pking shouldn't be counted as counterpart in voting as well. If you don't like it in a real wilderness then don't go there. Why should they count in a decision concerning other player's fun?
4. You only have to enter a name to register a vote?
I have a bad feeling about this.
Also the fact that unlimited new accounts can be made to add in the votecount, gives me the feeling that true voting will be tampered.
5. A vote for free trade + the old wilderness in 1 vote??? How strange. They are two seperate things and should be voted seperately in my opinion.

Runescape was more fun to play in 2006, true!!! It reflected more real-life situations in gameplay.
Also the dangers were not much different by then: the old scammers are now replaced by merch clans. I don't see much difference.
Too much time has passed since then, so I gave up hoping for a real change.
I voted 1 yes anyway.

i personally loved the wilderness and free trade limit! i hate how people are profiling oo its good now. why fix it if its not broke. sorry it is broke and jagex has noticed the decline of players over the last 2 years since wildy was tooken from us. if u dont like it dont vote for it and be quite obviosily jagex will look for the better interest for the players.
im sick of players that like skilling all day and sit on forums all day giving jagex the wrong idea of what we want. pkers are in the wilderness almost 90% of the time and dont get on forums. if u dont pk then u have no say in the wilderness. free trade limit ya u can have a say in it.
but u saying wilderness shouldnt be changed back is like me saying oo u can trade or sell the items u get from skilling like ore, logs, fish. plz mind ur own business and stay out of the art of pking!

I'm almost wondering if the threshold is going to be set so high as to make sure this vote fails. It would definitely give Jagex some leverage to say that not enough players voted for it to be reintroduced. After that, any further debate would just be kicking a dead horse. Clan Master of the Two Rivers Clan & World Guardian. Gielinor is doomed.
