As soon as i read this on the 21st of december, i told the mates that used to play RS, that Jagex are bringing back the Wilderness and getting rid of the trade limit. All but one of them are now playing RS again with members accounts and all. They all quit before in 2007.
This is probably the best way to bring back 'lost players' but it does introduce scamming again.
You could maybe move the GE from varrok to Lumbridge where the new players would start and also put it in the tutorial. This would get the newer players using it who are unaware of scamming.

Either that or the scammer was really good at switch out items during a trade.......
Not all the time it's the "scammees" fault

Just to know yes I realize there is now identifiers now so if you do get scammed now it is your fault.

what i mean by no contact is, they cant meet in game. chat maybe. oh well. something like that. thats why they have to make an impt choice. besides, they can always create a new acct to play with friends. lol. this is just an idea

Wouldn't that be horrible to blame a younger kid for playing and not knowing what a scam is? "Oh I'm sorry kid but you are stupid because you got scammed" Realize it is more than just your age group.

Yes and i was thinking the same thing before i forgot friends would become horrified they had to choose between friends and game settings.

Please don't enter the wilderness with any items that you're not willing to lose, that's the best way to avoid being lured. Another way to avoid being lured would be to not cross the wilderness wall with others who have promised to drop items in the wilderness or who want to trade in the wilderness. Fortunately, you can't be lured by some scammer idiot trading you and running into the wilderness as you click to trade with them now *ecause of the wilderness wall. Don't accept any teleports from strangers that lead to places that you don't know the location of. (Ice Plateau, being the one I mean.) and certainly do not go to meet someone in the wilderness while wearing items that you don't want to lose.
Oh and do not go into the low level wilderness to pick up the drops that you randomly see sitting on the ground. There is a safe space just after the wilderness wall jump, if the item is close, telegrab it but do not bring items other than telegrab runes. You may telegrab items from the safe side of the wall also. If the item isn't close to the wildy wall safe area or the safe side, forget it. Simply walking on by on the safe side is the best and safest way. Doing all of this, you won't get lured. =P
