I'd recomend to go straight to settings: game options: legacy combat and legacy interface. That way you can ease yourself in to the new interface and EOC combat. There are wayyy to many things to cover in just a single forum post, but here are the most important things. .
1. New interface
2. New combat mechanics
3. Insane new quests, both f2p and p2p
4. World events
5. Awesome lore about the gods
6. A new skill; divination
7. The elf city finally opened up
8. Tavelry is now the starting area (Lumbrige forever remains in my heart)
9. Graphical updates
10. Audio updates
11. Suomi got 5 billion xp.

If you want to train combat i suggest you go to combat academy north of lumbridge

Also you should check prifddinas,it is one of the best updates in runescape.
